Defragment your computer hard disk

2. You should also defragment your Windows pagefile and registry.

3. Clean up hard drive disk space being taken up by temporary files, the recycle bin, hibernation and more. You can also use a tool like TreeSize to determine what is taking up space on your hard drive.

4. Load up Windows faster by using Startup Delayer, a free program that will speed up the boot time of Windows by delaying the startup of programs.

5. Speaking of startup programs, many of them are useless and can be turned off. Use the MSCONFIG utility to disable startup programs.

6. By default, the size of the paging file is controlled by Windows, which can cause defragmentation. Also, the paging file should be on a different hard drive or partition than the boot partition. Read here on the rules for best paging file performance.

7. In Windows XP and Vista, the Windows Search indexing service is turned on for all local hard drives. Turning off indexing is a simple way to increase performance.

8. If you don’t care about all the fancy visual effects in Windows, you can turn them off by going to Performance Options.

9. This is the "breakdown

voltage." The breakdown voltage depends on the kind of capacitor being used. You must be especially careful

with electrolytic capacitors because the breakdown voltage is comparatively low. The breakdown voltage of

electrolytic capacitors is displayed as Working Voltage.

Electrolytic Capacitors (Electrochemical type capacitors)

Aluminum is used for the electrodes by using a thin oxidization membrane.
Large values of capacitance can be obtained in comparison with the size of the capacitor, because the

dielectric used is very thin.

Tantalum Capacitors

Tantalum Capacitors are electrolytic capacitors that is use a material called tantalum for the electrodes.

Large values of capacitance similar to aluminum electrolytic capacitors can be obtained.

Ceramic Capacitors
Ceramic capacitors are constructed with materials such as titanium acid barium used as the dielectric.

Internally, these capacitors are not constructed as a coil, so they can be used in high frequency applications.

Typically, they are used in circuits which bypass high frequency signals to ground.

Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors

The multilayer ceramic capacitor has a many-layered dielectric. These capacitors are small in size, and have

good temperature and frequency characteristics.

Electric Double Layer Capacitors (Super Capacitors)

This is a "Super Capacitor," which is quite a wonder.
The capacitance is 0.47 F (470,000 µF).

Polyester Film Capacitors
This capacitor uses thin polyester film as the dielectric.
They are not high tolerance, but they are cheap and handy. Their tolerance is about ±5% to ±10%

Polypropylene Capacitors
This capacitor is used when a higher tolerance is necessary than polyester capacitors offer. Polypropylene film

is used for the dielectric

Mica Capacitors

These capacitors use Mica for the dielectric. Mica capacitors have good stability because their temperature

coefficient is small. Because their frequency characteristic is excellent, they are used for resonance

circuits, and high frequency filters.

Variable Capacitors

Variable capacitors are used for adjustment etc. of frequency mainly.

On the left in the photograph is a "trimmer," which uses ceramic as the dielectric. Next to it on the right is

one that uses polyester film for the dielectric.

Metallized Polyester Film Capacitors
These capacitors are a kind of a polyester film capacitor. It can be difficult to find the values of these small capacitors because there are many types of them and several different labelling systems!

Many small value capacitors have their value printed but without a multiplier, so you need to use experience to work out what the multiplier should be!

For example 0.1 means 0.1µF = 100nF.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 184px; height: 78px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_94W5UVXlKlY/Sh4wRyPHumI/AAAAAAAAABg/G139_67szxs/s320/capit.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340759290209090146" />

Variable capacitors

Variable capacitors are mostly used in radio tuning circuits and they are sometimes called 'tuning capacitors'. They have very small capacitance values, typically between 100pF and 500pF (100pF = 0.0001µF). The type illustrated usually has trimmers built in (for making small adjustments - see below) as well as the main variable capacitor.

Many variable capacitors have very short spindles which are not suitable for the standard knobs used for variable resistors and rotary switches. It would be wise to check that a suitable knob is available before ordering a variable capacitor

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 117px; height: 107px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_94W5UVXlKlY/Sh4xIdJdIYI/AAAAAAAAABo/p0xmfW9795k/s320/variable.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340760229440987522" />

To Lock /Hide folder in windows XP without using software

To Lock a folder in windows XP without any software. SDRAM started out running at 66 MHz, while older fast page mode DRAM and EDO max out at 50 MHz. SDRAM is able to scale to 133 MHz (PC133) officially, and unofficially up to 180MHz or higher. As processors get faster, new generations of memory such as DDR and RDRAM are required to get proper performance.

DDR (Double Data Rate SDRAM)
DDR basically doubles the rate of data transfer of standard SDRAM by transferring data on the up and down tick of a clock cycle. DDR memory operating at 333MHz actually operates at 166MHz * 2 (aka PC333 / PC2700) or 133MHz*2 (PC266 / PC2100). DDR is a 2.5 volt technology that uses 184 pins in its DIMMs. It is incompatible with SDRAM physically, but uses a similar parallel bus, making it easier to implement than RDRAM, which is a different technology.

Rambus DRAM (RDRAM)
Despite it's higher price, Intel has given RDRAM it's blessing for the consumer market, and it will be the sole choice of memory for Intel's Pentium 4. RDRAM is a serial memory technology that arrived in three flavors, PC600, PC700, and PC800. PC800 RDRAM has double the maximum throughput of old PC100 SDRAM, but a higher latency. RDRAM designs with multiple channels, such as those in Pentium 4 motherboards, are currently at the top of the heap in memory throughput, especially when paired with PC1066 RDRAM memory.

Type of Resistor ?

1. The other is semi-fixed resistor that is not meant to be adjusted by anyone but a technician.
3 Fuse able resistor

What is Resistor ?

A resistor is a component of an electrical circuit that resists the flow of electrical current. When power supply is interrupted, these electronic devices are inoperable. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a type of power supply used to power and protect an electrical load that is sensitive to fluctuations in or the absence of electrical power.

An uninterruptible power supply is typically used as a buffer between commercially supplied power and an electrical load, such as a computer, that requires precise or uninterrupted power. A UPS serves to keep a computer operating by supplying power thereto when the power supply from the commercial power is stopped, for example, a power failure or breaker trip due to overload occurs. An uninterruptible power supply uses an inverter to convert a direct current (DC) from a battery into an alternating current (AC).The UPS uses the commercially supplied AC power to charge a DC battery. A UPS generally comprises a rectifier, inverter, battery charger, DC battery, and other components, all housed within a single case or package.

Remove the Run button from the Start menu

In the Windows group policy. Formats range from simple text to HTML & rich media. Content can be one-size-fits-all or highly customized. Frequency can consist of fixed, frequent intervals or sporadic intervals, with transmissions occurring only when something newsworthy comes along. Sophistication (and cost) can be very low or very high.

Along with the power of email comes the abuse of email, commonly known as spam. Is spam email considered marketing? Technically, the answer is probably yes, but it is certainly not responsible email marketing. While some users fail to distinguish between permission marketing and email spam, spam is actually a major threat to legitimate email marketers, as a glut of messages could make the entire email medium less effective.

Rename Recycle Bin Microsoft Windows users

Click on Start > Run>type regedit and press enter
Go HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT> CLSID
Open {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} folder
Open the ShellFolder folder
Change the "Attributes" data value from "40 01 00 20" to "50 01 00 20". As the

monitor increases in size, the image display will decrease; below is a listing of a usable resolution limit by the size of the monitor.

These sizes can be debated but are the standard and most easily viewed resolutions.

15" 800 x 600 / 1,024 x 768

17" 1,280 x 1,024

19" 1,280 x 1024

21" - 1,600 x 1,200

MONITER

Before looking at what type of configurations you need to look for when purchasing a computer monitor, it is important to know if

you want a CRT or a Flat Panel / LCD monitor.

CRT Today, one of the most commonly used technologies for computer monitors. CRT, or Cathode Ray Tube, is a technology

much like what you will find on most TVs. CRT monitors are an affordable solution; however, they are bulky and very heavy.

Flat Panel / LCD LCD, or Liquid Crystal Display, monitors are similar to what is found on portable computers. LCD monitors

overall generally display much sharper of an image, are lighter and more space efficient; however, they are much more of an

expensive solution for desktop displays.

Removable Media Option

When considering a removable media device, especially if you want to share files between friends or office workers, you need to

make sure that you standardize on one type of media.
